Premiere!
The National Academic Symphonic Band of Ukraine, conducted by Ivan Stetsky, will present a concert dedicated to Danish musical culture of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The program features works by two prominent Danish composers, Carl Nielsen and Søren Hildgaard. Although the music belongs to different periods and has its own “language”, it manages to reflect important aspects of Denmark’s cultural and artistic traditions.
The selected program covers a wide range of topics, including stories inspired by the East, theatrical masquerades, and the world of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales.
The concert will also feature the orchestra’s soloist, Olexii Sagitov (trombone), with a large-scale concert rhapsody, in which the virtuosity of the instrument will be combined with picturesque musical paintings.
This event will provide listeners with the opportunity to become more familiar with Danish music and its place in the broader European musical tradition.
